Course Info

This course is run entirely on Zoom, and can be taken from anywhere. Please note the sessions are in Vancouver's Pacific Time zone, so students outside this area will need to adjust schedules accordingly. Classes must be attended live and will not be recorded. Students provide their own computers and backup media, and are responsible for archiving their projects. 

Minimum-to-approximate computer requirements are as follows:

FOR DESKTOP – CPU Intel i5, 16GB Memory, Video Adapter NVidia Geforce 970, Hard Drive 1TB

FOR LAPTOP – CPU Intel i5, 12GB Memory, Graphics Adapter w/ 1GB memory, Hard Drive SSD 250

All classes run Thursday evenings 6:30 pm – 9:30 pm Pacific (Vancouver) Time.

WEEK 5, BASIC EDITING
Introduction to Premiere Pro. Basic edits. Managing assets.

WEEK 6, ADVANCED EDITING
Advanced editing techniques. Theory. Assignment: Personal Profile.



WEEK 7, CINEMATOGRAPHY / PRODUCTION TECHNOLOGY
Cinematography. Lighting. Introduction to Production Equipment & Technology.

WEEK 8, DIRECTING / PRODUCING
Directing Actors. Directing Crew. Managing Productions. Producing Content.

WEEK 9, SOUND DESIGN
Foley. Sound Design. Film Sound Composition. Assignment: Editing Project.

WEEK 10, COLOUR CORRECTION
Introduction to DaVinci Resolve. Basic Colour Correction.

WEEK 11, ROUGH CUTS / ONE ON ONE MEETINGS
Workshop your projects, wherever they’re at.

WEEK 12, SCREENING
Final Screening. Publishing. Festivals. Assignment: Final Project
